This year, we’re celebrating 10 years (!) since the Landworkers’ Alliance was first formed. From that initial meeting of a handful of people gathering for the first time at Organic Lea in London, to a membership of well over 2000 landworkers across the UK, it’s been an amazing journey to this point. Our vision remains the same – to improve the livelihoods of our members and create a better food and land-use system for everyone.
From the start, La Via Campesina and the power of peasants, small-scale farmers and agricultural workers unions around the world has been a huge inspiration to our work, and we remain committed to a global vision of agroecology, food sovereignty and sustainable forestry.
This week, over on our social channels, we’ll be reflecting back on some of the actions, achievements, events and key moments of the last 10 years, but we’d love you to dig through your photo archives too and tag us @landworkersalliance or use the hashtag #LWAis10 so we can share them.
