Requests for work, volunteering or internships

We are currently not recruiting for any roles but please read our newsletters for any announcements. We currently do not offer any volunteer or internship placements directly with the LWA, but keep an eye out in the newsletter or on the forum for any members looking for volunteers or workers.

Academic/Research Enquiries

Please look at the Agroecology Research Collaboration to see if it fits your area of research/work.

Membership Support / Advice

Currently the LWA does not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members on their specific projects, farms or programmes. We get a lot of requests for individual support and would love to have the time to respond to each request in full. We are fundraising for a new role for somebody to focus on membership support and services as we have identified it is a gap in our offering so please watch this space. Having said that, if your query is critical and urgent please email info@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk including the word URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.

Contacting Individual Staff

Please take the time to explore our staff page here to see who the most relevant contact for your enquiry is.

Our addresses format is firstname.lastname@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk

Please bear in mind we all work part time and have limited capacity to respond to enquiries outside our core areas of work.

You can also find information under the About Us header about branch and regional organising, and identity groups within the LWA membership.

Member support

We aim to support members to improve their enterprises and overcome obstacles they face, as well as to assist farmers, growers and land-based workers to shift their production to agroecological systems and their enterprises to direct sales or short supply chain models.

Direct sales and short supply chains guides

We are excited to launch three documents as part of our on-going work to support producers to set up or transition to direct sales and short supply chains. Please share these resources with others, and let us know your thoughts on how to further improve them.

  1. Landworkers’ Alliance guide to direct sales and short supply chain models and their management
  1. Case studies for setting up and running direct sales models
  1. Landworkers’ Alliance guide to fundraising
  1. Landworkers’ Alliance Business Planning Guide for ecological farm and forestry businesses

In the coming months we plan to develop further resources with more depth on each of these models, with guidance from producers running the models on the details of their operations and example Food Safety Management Plans and HACCP procedures. If you are interested in sharing information from your enterprise to support this work please contact tony.little@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk

Training Resources

We offer some training and mentoring, and resources on setting up farm start sites. You can find details in the training section. Members also run farmer to farmer groups in many parts of the country, and we recommend using the forum on this website to post questions that others may be able to help you with.

Member Support

Currently we do not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members with specific projects, or offer bespoke advice. We get a lot of requests like this and would love to have the time to respond to each and support everybody. We are fundraising for a new role for somebody to focus on membership support and services as we have identified it is a gap in our offering so please watch this space.

But please take the time to explore our staff page here to see if your enquiry fits into a specific staff members’ role and email them directly.

However, If you need critical and urgent support please email info@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk including URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.
