Requests for work, volunteering or internships

We are currently not recruiting for any roles but please read our newsletters for any announcements. We currently do not offer any volunteer or internship placements directly with the LWA, but keep an eye out in the newsletter or on the forum for any members looking for volunteers or workers.

Academic/Research Enquiries

Please look at the Agroecology Research Collaboration to see if it fits your area of research/work.

Membership Support / Advice

Currently the LWA does not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members on their specific projects, farms or programmes. We get a lot of requests for individual support and would love to have the time to respond to each request in full. We are fundraising for a new role for somebody to focus on membership support and services as we have identified it is a gap in our offering so please watch this space. Having said that, if your query is critical and urgent please email info@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk including the word URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.

Contacting Individual Staff

Please take the time to explore our staff page here to see who the most relevant contact for your enquiry is.

Please bear in mind we all work part time and have limited capacity to respond to enquiries outside our core areas of work.

You can also find information under the About Us header about branch and regional organising, and identity groups within the LWA membership.

Solidarity Demo at Syngenta Factory, Huddersfield

We’re planning a peaceful demonstration outside Syngenta’s chemical factory in Huddersfield to protest the UK Government’s double standards in permitting the manufacture and export of toxic chemicals that are banned for use in the UK.

We want to show our solidarity with farmers, landworkers and food producers across the world who are suffering the impacts of these deadly chemicals – namely Paraquat which is manufactured at the Huddersfield factory.

We’d love you to join us – and bring your voices, banners and your tools!

⚠️ Want to join us?

We’ll be meeting at 11am on the morning of Saturday 7th in the car park of the KAL – Leeds Road Sports Complex opposite the Syngenta factory in Huddersfield, ready for the demo at 12.

?‍? What to bring?

Please bring yourself, a friend, and any farm tools/ wheelbarrows/ growing gear that you can manage! We basically need the media to be able to see that we’re farmers and landworkers.

We’ll also be staying for a ‘what’s next?’ picnic and brainstorming session after the demo between 1.30-3.00pm so please bring lunch if you want to stick around for that (location TBC – probably a nearby park).

? Can’t come?

Don’t forget to write t the UK Government using our template letter and online letter-writing platform.

Please note that this will be a peaceful demonstration, with the main aim being to capture media and press attention. We don’t plan on causing any serious disruption or taking any unnecessary risks.

You can find out more about the campaign here.
