Requests for work, volunteering or internships

We are currently not recruiting for any roles but please read our newsletters for any announcements. We currently do not offer any volunteer or internship placements directly with the LWA, but keep an eye out in the newsletter or on the forum for any members looking for volunteers or workers.

Academic/Research Enquiries

Please look at the Agroecology Research Collaboration to see if it fits your area of research/work.

Membership Support / Advice

Currently the LWA does not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members on their specific projects, farms or programmes. We get a lot of requests for individual support and would love to have the time to respond to each request in full. We are fundraising for a new role for somebody to focus on membership support and services as we have identified it is a gap in our offering so please watch this space. Having said that, if your query is critical and urgent please email info@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk including the word URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.

Contacting Individual Staff

Please take the time to explore our staff page here to see who the most relevant contact for your enquiry is.

Our addresses format is firstname.lastname@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk

Please bear in mind we all work part time and have limited capacity to respond to enquiries outside our core areas of work.

You can also find information under the About Us header about branch and regional organising, and identity groups within the LWA membership.

LWA AGM 2022

You’re invited to the LWA Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2022!

Register now via Eventbrite

The AGM is the one place every year where LWA members and supporters from all across all nations of the UK can come together to celebrate the amazing things we’ve achieved over the last year, announce the election of new Coordinating Group members, and think about our strategy for the year ahead.

As with the previous two years, this AGM will be hosted online to ensure as many members can attend as possible. And this year we’re aiming to create even more space for people involved in the LWA in various different ways, whether as grassroots members, supporters, organisers, staff or coordinating group members, to input into our work to build a better food, land and farming system.

To do this, we’re shaping a programme for the day of the AGM which involves a mix of plenary sessions (with all attendees) and smaller breakout sessions which you can engage with as your interest dictates. These sessions are arranged across four strands: Campaigns & Action, Democracy, How we work, and Membership. Discussion will range from what form of union is the LWA building? and how to get involved in member organising, to where does the LWAs funding come from? and where do we go next with our movement-building work?

The current schedule for the day is:

11.00 | Welcome and opening ceremony

11.15 | What is LWA as a union?

11.45 | Four breakout sessions across Campaigns & action, Democracy, How we work, and Membership

12.45 | Lunch

13.45 | Presentation of accounts, election results and introduction of new Coordinating Group members

14.30 | Four breakout sessions across Campaigns & action, Democracy, How we work, and Membership

15.30 | Afternoon break

15.45 | Four breakout sessions across Campaigns & action, Democracy, How we work, and Membership

16.45 | Closing ceremony

17.00 | Finish

The full programme, with details of the sessions and information on how you can access them online, will be sent to all registered attendees in the next few weeks, so make sure you register today to not miss out! There will also be a special LWA Film Club on the evening of the AGM (ticketed separately); more details of this will be announced soon.

Attending the AGM is free, but if you’re able to make a donation to support the costs of hosting this event, including staff time, design work by artists, and administrative costs, this will support us to continue our work. When you register, there will be an option to make a donation.

If you have any access needs which we can support with so that you can attend and fully participate in the AGM, you can let us know by completing the registration process on Eventbrite. This may include but is not limited to British Sign Language interpretation, live captioning and Welsh translation. You can also contact emmott.baddeley@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk to further discuss support.

Landworkers’ Alliance Annual Report 2022

Each year the LWA produces an Annual Report which summarises our work over the previous twelve months. All members and supporters who opted in will have received or soon be receiving a paper copy of the Annual Report in the post. You can also access a digital version of the report in either Welsh or English on our website.

Click here to read the Annual Report 2022 online

In addition this year, we will be producing an audio recording of the Annual Report. This is to support our aim of having more time for discussion at the AGM and fewer presentations. Therefore, we’re trying to make the summary of our work from October 2021 to September 2022 as accessible as possible to everyone ahead of the AGM, so we can all arrive ready to dive into discussions.

So, if you’re attending the AGM please come along having read or listened to the Annual Report 2022. The audio recordings will be released ahead of the AGM, on Monday 28th November, and will be available to either stream or download from the LWA website. Details of how to access this will be circulated to all members and supporters on this date.
