Membership Support / Advice

Currently the LWA does not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members on their specific projects, farms or programmes. We get a lot of requests for individual support and would love to have the time to respond to each request in full. We are fundraising for a new role for somebody to focus on membership support and services as we have identified it is a gap in our offering so please watch this space. Having said that, if your query is critical and urgent please email info@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk including the word URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.

We are an exciting new market garden about to go into our first year of producing high quality vegetables and herbs using regenerative and organic principles. The market garden has been conceived of and brought to life out of a partnership between a chef and a grower, under the belief that farms and kitchens working together can have a positive impact on the food industry while providing benefits for both parties. This farm-to-table structure is at the heart of what we do.

We are looking for a hardworking, passionate individual with a desire to learn and develop their skills. Experience is required although training and support will be given. Some weekend work will be required.

You will be working with the head grower on a day-to-day basis, working on a wide variety of tasks such as propagation, transplanting, weeding, plant care, pest management, harvesting, construction and more. From this you will gain a wide spectrum of skills and knowledge and will experience first-hand the crucial beginning stages of a market garden.

We value diversity and are committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide accommodation at this time.

    Essential:
Passion for and commitment to ethical and sustainable food production.
Ability to learn on the job.
Self-driven and able to work independently.
Willingness to work in all weathers.
Paid or unpaid experience of growing with organic/regenerative/sustainable principles.
Ability to travel to and from the market garden independently.
Friendly and happy to interact with customers and visitors to the market garden.

    Desirable:
    Full driver’s licence.
    Access to own vehicle.
    Interest in food culture.

Please send a cover letter and your CV to: michael@cinderwoodmarketgarden.co
Closing date for applications 7th March
