Membership Support / Advice

Currently the LWA does not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members on their specific projects, farms or programmes. Having said that, if your query is critical and urgent please email info@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk including the word URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.

Flourish Produce is looking for Seasonal Growers to join us for 2022, our fifth season.

We are a 54 acre farm south of Cambridge that grows speciality crops for restaurants and wholesale. We prioritize looking after our soils and encouraging biodiversity through our farming techniques and are in transition to becoming biodynamically certified.

We grow vegetables, fruit, herbs, salads, and flowers at field scale and under protected cropping as well as farming heritage grains. We are establishing an agroforestry alley cropping system throughout our farm and rotations include extensive use of green manures and cover crops.

The Seasonal Grower positions will involve responsibility of specific crops along with a number of other managerial duties, with close communication with our Farm Manager and Calixta the Founder.

Hours fluctuate throughout the season and members of our team can expect to work longer hours in the summer and shorter hours during the winter months. We also share the responsibilities of a weekend rotation for farm chores and irrigation management in the summer months.

We are a young, dynamic team who are extremely passionate about food and continuing to develop as a successful commercial farm. We share group lunches, host volunteers and chef visits, and run various events.

We are looking for someone as enthusiastic as us to join our team who enjoys working hard.

The role will start ASAP and run through until Dec 2022 as a minimum. For the right candidate on site accommodation will be provided.

    The right applicant will have:

    – Some previous growing experience – paid or volunteering
    – Be a good team player and also be self motivated when working alone
    – Excellent communication skills, reliable and honest
    – Understand the importance of looking after tools, being tidy and organized
    – Hold a valid UK driving licence (manual)
    – Mechanical and tractor experience would be preferred but is not essential

If you are interested in applying for this role, please email Alice office@flourishproduce.co.uk with a cover letter and a CV. We are hoping to interview suitable candidates at the farm in person ASAP. For more information about Flourish please visit our website http://www.flourishproduce.co.uk or Social Media @flourishproduce.
