This vision is a diverse, life-affirming world which nurtures body and soul – but to realise it, we must remove the system that is wreaking endless planetary havoc and fuelling a climate crisis which ultimately endangers us all.
Working the Land, Cooling the Planet
For the year following COP26 the 2022 calendar showcased twelve practices and activities that are part of the solution for cooling the planet and building the world we know is possible.
We believe that diverse approaches and creating a mosaic of land-use – both on the land and on the sea – are key to mitigating climate breakdown; there is rarely just one technique or activity that holds the answer to such a mammoth task. These twelve stories were written by land workers, practitioners, campaigners, organisers and community activists who are on the frontlines of grassroots organising for agroecology, food sovereignty and climate justice.
